Established & Sons work with both world renowned designers and brilliant new talent, realizing their visions with a respect and understanding for each designers? individual style. A belief in the significance of these distinctive styles has encouraged a diverse and eclectic premier collection. The advocacy of celebrated designers and emerging names is integral to the company?s mission: to build an exemplary representation of British creative excellence.

A little under a year since its inception in September 2004 and Established & Sons has already become a byword for accomplished British furniture design and manufacture. From the commissioning of a collective of Britain?s best design talents to the production of a celebrated premier collection, the advance from fledgling company to established industry player has been a swift and exciting one.
Established & Sons was begun with the ambition of reviving interest in the skills and capabilities of British furniture manufacturing. This was coupled with an understanding of and respect for the design talents currently working in or hailing from Britain. A timely meeting with Angad Paul of the Caparo Group led to one of the most interesting and inspiring business relationships Britain has seen in recent years. The sheer manufacturing capability of the Caparo Group combined with the industry know-how of the Established & Sons team proved a dynamic marriage. The sophisticated manufacturing capabilities available to Established & Sons have aided the company?s speedy growth ?prototype collection to production boasts a six month turnaround. Manufacturing prowess has ensured that the very cream of design talent have been eager to work with Established & Sons.
The company?s manifesto includes a mission to employ the talents of both celebrated, renowned creatives and to harness the energy and originality of a younger generation of emerging design talent. The combination of commissioned designers and architects generates an eclectic collection of work. Established & Sons believe strongly in encouraging their designers own creative bent rather than imposing a house style. The celebration of each designer?s individual style is an important intention of the company.
The members of the Established & Sons team (Angad Paul, Alasdhair Willis, Mark Holmes, Sebastian Wrong, Tamara Caspersz) each bring differing but equally valuable skills and experiences to the company. These combined elements amount to a level of experience and dexterity within the design arena that is difficult to beat.
In April 2005 Established & Sons launched their company, its mission and first design collection on an international platform at the Milan Salone. The reception was overwhelmingly encouraging. Six months later Established & Sons had their premier production collection ready to be ferried to retail. A series of limited edition designs, another original facet of the company, is currently being presented to individual collectors, museums and galleries.
The designers invited to create the first collection of products from Established & Sons comprised a ?wish list? of talent. Happily, each designer approached by the brand instantly agreed to be involved and embraced the Established & Sons concept wholeheartedly. Designers were selected because of their unique talent and contribution to the contemporary British design scene. This individuality was always meant to be celebrated and it has been the company?s intention from the beginning to give all of their designers the freedom to be true to their respective aesthetics. The skill and capabilities of the Established & Sons manufacturing infrastructure provides a cohesive link. It is the intention of Established and Sons that fine furniture design and manufacturing remain the common thread through this and future collections. All eight designers utilised the exceptional production facilities available to them. For this first expression of manufacturing capability, every designer has applied a specific and original construction method to an original design either inspired by or celebratory of a skilled production technique. The products are diverse and eclectic, representative of the British design scene. They sit across a wide-range of price levels and satisfy a number of consumer requirements.
