Richard Woods and Sebastian Wrong

Considerable expertise was needed to bring an artisan production process to manufacture while retaining the originality and character from the studio to the factory.  Every piece of the Wrongwoods collection is block printed. The block is primed with paint and then pressed onto a plywood panel using a hydraulic press. The application of paint by hand onto the print block means that each print impression will contain unique characteristics. After the printing stage the surface is worked by hand to ensure colour strength and control. The printed panels are stored on racks to dry and then coated with the polyurethane matt lacquer to seal and protect the surface. Once the units have been fully assembled, a final coat of matt lacquer is applied.
