Centrepiece
Filigrana Cloud Installation at Arcade Food Hall Centre Point
Tottenham Court Road, London
Opened Spring/Summer 2022

A bespoke lighting centre piece made from a cluster of extra-large, hand-made Filigrana S5 Lights creates a whimsical, captivating effect. Like giant, suspended candies, each Venetian glass sphere was skillfully mouth-blown to the absolute maximum possible size by specialist artisans. The site-specific project fills a large void over the stairwell atrium with a dramatic, kaleidoscopic feature, bringing a joyful, effervescent pop of colour.

A cluster of Filigrana Lights illuminate from high above heavy footfall on the ground floor JKS restaurant set within the Centre Point building, a superb example of modernist, historical architecture by George Marsh. To work within the space, Established & Sons created a bespoke ceiling plate to suspend the entire installation using a perforated steel frame that immerses itself seamlessly into the surrounding environment of the 12,500 square foot Brutalist Grade II listed building. Designed by Sebastian Wrong, Filigrana Light harnesses the mastery and heritage of traditional Venetian glass blowing, merging a 16th-century technique from Murano with a modern aesthetic to create a mesmerising, candy-cane striped light.
