Factory Found and Made
Photographer Leon Chew has found himself chronicling the backrooms of production before, in fact he’s becoming something of an expert on the mechanics of making— here he shoots the processes behind the construction of the Fold series at Bervale in Birmingham.
The distinctive plaited cables are threaded prior to packaging. Scores of lamps receive the third in a series of fold’s before moving onto the next specialist machine.
Heavy-duty industrial folding machines have found good use in the design of this product. The ready cut aluminium frames are first stamped with the company logo.
