Aqua Table Marble
Zaha Hadid
Taking the flow of water as a starting point and subverting the idea that a table must stand on four solid legs, Aqua’s form is a continuous fluid surface. The legs and asymmetric top are poured into the three pools that give the table its height and stability. In a playful visual trick, three gentle indentations appear like shallow pools in the landscape of the table top.
Zaha Hadid was the first woman to be awarded the distinguished Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2004 and is internationally known for her built, theoretical and academic work. Her recognisable and remarkable style is characterized by fragmented geometry and bold fluid forms.
